Here’s the video for the single, Rx, which we featured just a few weeks ago, from his forthcoming album, Running Wild, which is due out in August. I will let the video do the talking here, but Grieves continues to connect with fans new and old with topics people can easily relate to.
Single You Out: Supastition – Thanks, Ghost
Supastition is putting together a monthly series called Solitaire, where he will release a song that he alone produces, writes, records, and does the graphic design for.
For the most part, I don’t mess around with these series type projects because they are hard to keep up with, but I do appreciate the entire discography of Supastition. So I am going to give this one a go.
On Thanks, Ghost, Supa pays homage to Ghostface Killah’s storytelling ability while narrating a couple of his own. He flips on a couple of events that occurred in his life while listening to tracks from the Wu-Tang vet. Pretty clever if you ask me.
Take a listen and pass it on!
Single You Out: The Fraternity – Watchers On The Wall (Trey G x Sleep TF x Jus Ra)
Oh shit! It’s been a few years but now we finally get a Fraternity project. The team looks like it has changed up a little bit with the emcees on the Dark Arts Of The Iron Age. But the illness is the same! The production throughout the project is dark yet knocks pretty hard. The lyricism is extremely well crafted by each emcee yet they each maintain a unique style.
This track has a Game Of Thrones appeal to it as do some of the others. Straight illness! Check the full album and pay what you want! I dropped some cheddar on it.

Note:
I waited for this album for three plus years from Alpha Faktion. Their EP, Truth, Lies, & Audiotape is a staple in a very crowded iTunes Library. So when Azwun, Kraze, and DJ Enyoutee finally dropped their new project, Creative Control my expectations were extraordinarily high. But this is what the team did in the process of making this album while I waited anxiously: They made something that was timeless.
Single You Out: Pacewon & Mr. Green – Massacre (ft. Chris Rivers)
This is one of the best sixteens I have heard from Pacewon while Chris Rivers annihilates his appearance. But the true show stopper is the best from Mr. Green. These drums snap so hard and the altered vocal sample in the background is the perfect accent to this track. Really dope product from all involved.
Vic Orena – Problems By The LB (ft. DanO) (Video)
Well this thing is really going to happen huh? New Vic Orena album, Loyalty Electric, is coming and we couldn’t be more excited! This spittery shot at us by Vic and DanO is lucid fire. This song is all about lyricism front and center and these guys deliver bar from bar. Vic had me do the double-take/rewind with the Black Philip line. And DanO…have I heard of him before? Why haven’t I? He’s pretty damn ill.
Don’t know when it’s dropping but best believe I am font and center when the album comes to fruition.
G.S. ADVANCE – The Tribute (Video)
Another video single from G.S. Advance’s project, Absinthe. Sharp Grizwold drops the soulful flavor while Advance supplies the ill lyricism. This is yet another indicator of how dope the EP is. Definitely check it!
Single You Out: LMNO & Twiz the Beatpro – Amen (ft. Ras Kass)
This song off of LMNO & Twiz the Beatpro’s album, COHORTS, is one of the ills this year. This production is purely addictive. I love how Twiz manipulated this vocal sample. And Ras Kass’ verse is a problem, a legitimate problem. LMNO is no slouch either on his sixteen. This is a complete joint.
Single You Out: Words Hurt – King Of Summer
Now here’s a fresh summertime track for your 4th of July block party! I am really enjoying the feel of this track from Words Hurt which is comprised of Alaska and producer Lang Vo.
So hit the barbecue with this turned up to 10 in the whip and let the people appreciate your regal choice in music!
The Gift of Gab – The Gentrification Song (Video)
The Gift Of Gab reflects on the process of gentrification in the city. People and whole communities being shaken to their core in the name of progress. The place you once called home is simply not the same anymore. This is one of the more meaningful cuts you will here in 2017. It’s off of his project, Rejoice! Real Rappers Are Rapping Again! which is being marketed very interestingly.
