Skeezo – Stuck in da 90’s (prod by Alterbeats) (Video)

Skeezo releases the title track in video format from his most current EP, Stuck in da 90s which is produced by the Hip Hop Dependency Producer Of The Year, Alterbeats.  The song is a time machine for those of us who made our come up in the 1990s with Skeezo littering the track with references from the era.   Make sure you peep the EP, but also make sure you check his other jawn, Face Value as well.

Producer Of The Year: Alterbeats (2013)

alterbeats

HHD has never done  a Producer Of The Year accolade in our previous two years of existence but this award is warranted in 2013.  No one is responsible for more ill beats in my iTunes collection from this past year than producer extraordinaire, Alterbeats (Twitter, Website, Facebook, YouTube).  He has made bangers for some of my favorite artists along with crafting his album, Class Struggle.   He is one of the hardest working producers in the game, and emcees know that if they need some heat, they can check in with this Parisian Producer.   Be sure to check out Alterbeats’ projects and song credits.  You can check many of them by checking this LINK.  So please congratulate Alterbeats on this inaugural award on any of his social networks and be sure to check some of his favorite hand picked tracks below:

Single You Out: Alpha Faktion – Move Back (prod. by Alterbeats)

It’s certified boom bap in every sense of the word.  Alterbeats bodies this production and Alpha Faktion continues to show and prove with a high level of skill, personality, and chemistry.  Artists like Alterbeats and Alpha Faktion seemingly click perfect to bring you the very essence of hip hop.    This my friends is what his hop should sound like!  Make sure you check out the Alpha Faktion’s EP from earlier this year, Truth, Lies, & Audiotape.   That’s certified as well.

Alterbeats x Mic Handz – My Life (Video)

This video is full of changes of direction, dope production from Alterbeats, and raw rhymes from Mic Handz.  Every video that’s done for an Alterbeats’ cut is just extremely well done.  There’s no getting around that.  There’s also no denying Mic Handz’ opportunity to achieve his dream.  He has the skill, the production behind him, and the cosign from a lot of other dope artists.  Let’s see what he does next to make those dreams a reality. Meanwhile, make sure you cop Class Struggle if you have not already.

I wish I had more time to do a proper write up of this release but as it is time is short and I want to at least let you know that i’s out there.   I just finished giving Class Struggle it’s first listen and similar to their previous release, The French Revolution, in that it’s chocked full of bangers.  I of course have my favorite tracks:  Brass Knuckles by Halfabrick, Real Talk by Skeezo, and Idol by Bekay are tracks that will be on repeat.

But more than that I love the production that Alterbeats is doing.  He just keeps getting better.  You can cop this album on iTunes, Amazon, UGHH and elsewhere.   You can also stream the album in it’s entirety at DJ Booth simply by clicking the link below:

Alterbeats – Grustle (ft. Shabaam Sahdeeq, Skeezo and Mic Handz) (Video)

Alterbeats’ Class Struggle is dropping on October 29th.   The two songs I have heard from the project have both been fantastic but I expect nothing less from the French producer.  He also only works with some of the most gifted emcees in the game, so the combination of talent is always ill.  This time we have Shabaam Sahdeeq, Skeezo, and Mic Handz, all of whom are ruthless with the verbals.  Mic Handz, in particular, has got the flow going on this track.   Don’t sleep!

Single You Out: Alterbeats – Fruit Punch (feat. Guilty Simpson & The Rockness Monstah)

Alterbeats went out and got a couple of the most distinctive voices in the game for the lead single to their forthcoming project, Class Struggle.   That is the follow up to their first and highly acclaimed album, The French Revolution.  If you haven’t checked the latter, you should be ashamed!  Anyways…Guilty Simpson and Rockness do this banger a service by blessing the mic.  All heads recognize, the project drops on October 29th.

Single You Out: Shabaam Sahdeeq – U Don’t Want None (ft General DV) (prod by Alterbeats)

Shabaam Sahdeeq is back with a song from his forthcoming project,  Keepers Of The Lost Art, which unfortunately has a release date into next year.  This song should get people amped for the project, and rightfully so.   Alterbeats gives the song a Dragnet appeal with the horns in the background and then lets the snares simply crack.  General DV (DV Alias Khrist) also laces us with the gravelly hook, which gives me a moment of nostalgia.  Shabaam Sahdeeq knows how to do the rest with his raw lines and crisp delivery.
